Pécs in Hungary

Kiskassa is in the South of
Hungary, under an hour's drive
from the Croatian border, between the major and historic city of
Pécs
and the Siklós-Villány wine region. Pécs can be
easily reached by train
from Budapest, Vienna or even Croatia, and even has it's own airport
(“Pogány”).
Region
On the map below, places of interest are underlined (see
the Attractions page).

Directions
-
By road: take the
turn signposted “Kiskassa” immediately north of Újpetre on the
main
Pécs-Villány road. Once in the village (at the end of the
road – you
can't miss it!) turn left, and continue for two hundred metres to
number 72. We can park a couple of cars, and many bicycles. The road is
quieter than most main roads, and cycling or hitch-hiking will be
correspondingly safer.
-
By bus: buses run a
few times a day from Pécs, Villány and Harkány,
cost ~HUF400 each (~$2). Ring
us to ask for times, or ask at the bus stations. The bus times leaving
Kiskassa are HERE. Note that more buses pass
through Újpetre, and you could hitch from there, catch another
bus, or
even walk (about 40minutes unladen).
